History:
The Convair 880 and 990 were aircraft that were built by the Convair division of General Dynamics Corporation in the mid-1950s to compete against the Boeing 707 and the Douglas DC-8. Two versions of the aircraft were developed and put into service, the Convair 880 version and the larger stretched version, the Convair 990 (Models 30.30A). Convair 880 (Models 22/22M)

Announced in April, 1956, the Convair 880 was a four-engine transport aircraft for medium-range routes.
